Our Business Model

This venture is based on a business model that includes product design, revenue sources, cost structure, customer interactions, and financing alternatives. It  is explained here.

Our primary  product is an automated cloud-based corporate strategic planning system that will use AI, RPA, and ML to power the entire strategic planning function for every organization in the world.

Because operational circumstances and strategic ambitions of each organization are unique, our products will be custom-designed for each customer. At one extreme, the most strategically aggressive companies will seek the most capable systems we have to offer. They will wish to acquire each new feature as it becomes available. At the  other extreme, customers  with more focused needs will be interested in certain components of the complete  system that can be acquired as freestanding, functional products. In between, customers can choose the planning and automation features that meet their needs.

To deploy our products, customers will have to make adaptations to their internal systems and practices. Specialized terminals must be installed to connect to our system in the cloud. Customer operations must be scrutinized to learn what data types and sources are important and available. A customer may choose this opportunity to expand the range of data types that it will consult. The specified data sources must be connected to the cloud-based system. Customer employees must be trained to interact with the system (e.g., read its messages, adjust its instruments, submit queries, interpret the outputs).

In addition to installing the system, we will ….

  • configure the system to meet the customer’s needs
  • connect customer terminals to the system in the cloud
  • connect data sources to the system in the cloud
  • train employees in using the system and utilizing its outputs
  • train corporate leaders to adjust their attitudes about what is possible in strategic planning with a system like ours
  • consult with customers on enhancing the performance of  the system
  • advise customers on gaining maximum strategic advantage from use of the system

Several of these activities will be sources of revenue.

Customers will pay a fee for access to the cloud-based system, depending on the range of features they are using.

Revenues.  This venture will earn revenue from access fees for the entire system, fees for independent freestanding modules, equipment and  infrastructure charges, network fees for connection to the system, consultation fees on organization reengineering to accommodate the system, and fees for training employees to use and take advantage of the system. As we expect to patent many of the algorithms that we develop, at some point we may choose  to license those intellectual property rights.

Operating costs:  The venture will incur expenses for a substantial team of software development  scientists and engineers (e.g., machine learning researcher, data scientist, user interface designer), access to relevant data for training algorithms, accessing the large volumes and variety of data for building the initial full-featured systems, the overhead of collaborating with customers to design and install their systems, the overhead of training customers to use their systems,

The plan for developing this venture begins with the creation of a working prototype or minimum viable product (MVP) in the form of an operational component of the full system. It will use AI algorithms to scan a longitudinal demographic dataset of consumers of  health care services. With this tool, it will be possible to select combinations of variables in order to identify patterns and trends among the population. This knowledge allows the user to focus on market segments that may be declining, emerging, or growing, which in turn can lead to strategic choices. Interacting with the prototype will be a good introduction to our products.

The cost of developing the working prototype is estimated at $20-30,000. It will be funded by angel investors and financial support from the founder. It is estimated to take 6 months to complete this phase.

The prototype and testimony from managers who have experience with it will become the basis for negotiations with prospective customers, seed investors, and potential strategic partners. The next step is a round of seed financing to pay for the work on a full-featured system designed for a specific organization. The aim is to find a corporation enthusiastic about strategic planning that is willing to collaborate with us in building a system that is suited to its circumstances and needs. It is conceivable that the same entity would be willing to joint venture with us on this project, contributing some or all of the financing, as well as other related resources. Otherwise, we will approach venture capitalists.

The cost of developing the first full system is roughly estimated at upwards of $1 million. It probably will be funded through two rounds of financing. The alternative will be a strategic partnership with strategy-oriented organization.
